This is a great example of a very high spec continental 2 berth tourer, built by quality manufacturer Hymer, the same company who makes the ever popular Eriba caravans. The layout of this caravan is as any conventional British 2 berth ‘clubman caravan’, and the door is on the nearside. The Nova range for 2007 were described by Hymer as "premium class" featuring up to date exterior design and the latest construction methods available at the time.
The 2007 Hymer Nova range was built using PUAL construction methods, which features closed pore PU foam providing pleasantly cool temperatures in summer and warmth inside the caravan in the winter. Bonding technology was used rather than screws, improving the durability of Hymer's caravans and minimising the chances of water ingress. The external skin of the caravan is made from aluminium with a stove enamel coating and the roof skin is GRP. Corner bumpers and trim are grey and the external features include alloy wheels, striking grey graphics and modern lights, ensuring that the Hymer still looks good whether being towed on the road or sited on a pitch. The caravan is built on an Al-Ko galvanised chassis, featuring an Al-Ko AKS 3000 stabilising hitch.
A multi-functional entrance door is in two parts and features an integrated coat rack and storage compartments. At the front of the Nova 390, double glazed panoramic windows ensure that the lounge area is light and airy. All of the windows in the Nova are double-glazed and feature night ventilation latches, fly screens and blinds as well as curtains which compliment the upholstery. Twin bench seats are finished in attractive upholstery and convert into a large double bed for night time. There is a storage chest between the two seats with a fold out coffee table and additional storage in the overhead lockers. There is a built in stereo and speakers in one of the overhead lockers. All of the furniture in the Hymer is glued, screwed and dowelled in the factory, ensuring that the interior of this caravan has lasted very well.
Moving back from the lounge is a wardrobe with a hanging rail and plenty of space for clothes. Below this is the Truma Ultraheat spaceheater, with blown air heating system and the Nova features a unique extra touch here: a clever ventilated metal drawer for drying towels and clothes.
On the opposite side of the caravan is a spacious fridge which works on 12v, mains electric and gas. At the rear of the caravan is a well equipped kitchen workstation with a stainless steel sink and mixer tap, a 4 burner gas hob and a combination oven and grill, ensuring that the compact Nova 390's kitchen will cater for most meal requirements. Typifying the luxury that Hymer put into the fitting out of this caravan there is even and extractor fan fitted over the hob which vents to the exterior.
In the rear corner of the Hymer Nova 390 is the space-saving washroom, arranged in wetroom configuration, featuring a Thetford swivelling toilet, washbasin in curved vanity unit and a shower tray with a mixer tap shower head. There is also ample storage in this wash room for all the toiletries.
The Hymer Nova 390 also comes with extras including a new leisure battery, winter cover, hook up cable, refillable gas bottle, caravan step, fire extinguisher, waste pipe and other extras, making it excellent value for money.
The caravan has been serviced regularly, will be cleaned inside and out by us, will be serviced and damp checked by an independent workshop, providing real peace of mind for a new owner.
In summary, this is a great example of a high spec, well-built compact 2 berth tourer which is easy to live with and safe to tow by most medium sized cars. The fact that it comes with many essential extras, a Powrtouch motor mover, and an up-to-date service and damp check means that it will be ready to hitch up and take away on it next exciting caravan holiday.
