A great example of a large 6 berth continental touring caravan, on a single axle, with lots of extras including an awning. Well-looked after and stored undercover by us for many years. Will be valeted, serviced and damp-checked prior to sale.
Adria was the first manufacturer to come up with this six-berth, fixed-bed layout, although more established marques, such as Bailey and Sprite, were quick to see the potential and follow suit. Usually a caravan of this size would often be seen on a twin axle, adding more weight, but this Adria is built on a single axle for manoeuvrability, with any potential towing stability issues having been addressed by equipping the Adora with a Continental-style A-frame, which is longer than usual U.K. caravans, and comes with an Al-Ko AKS stabilising hitch as standard.
The single-axle chassis makes the Adora relatively easy to manoeuvre on site and the exterior of the Adria features an easy-action handbrake and heavy duty corner steadies. This caravan has been regularly waxed by us and this shows in the gleaming white body-shell which is set off by attractive blue graphics. The front and rear panels are full height ABS and there is a large gas/storage locker at the front.
A 2-piece Hartel exterior door leads to a well appointed interior with a comfortable, functional and practical feel, like most continental caravans, and the design of the fixtures and fittings gives the caravan a hardwearing aspect...no bad thing in a caravan which is likely to have children in it!
At the front, by day, the U-shaped lounge is flooded with light from the one-piece front window, and once the sun sets there are plenty of options for lighting. You can use the front corner lights, adjustable spotlights or ceiling lights. There's also a clock and a CD/radio unit, plus speakers and a useful powerpoint in the lounge. The lounge seating is upholstered in Latimer design textile and is complemented by matching curtains. There is a folding dining table which allows for family mealtimes and the lounge seating seating converts into a double bed when the table is collapsed.
Moving back through the Adria Adora, there is a useful side dinette which provides extra space for eating or relaxation and the seating in this area is upholstered in the same fabric as the lounge. This area converts into a lower level single bed and there is a second bunk which pulls out from the wall, creating bunk beds. There's a privacy curtain for the bunks, too, and a light for the lower berth.
Opposite the dinette is a well-appointed kitchen featuring a four-burner hob which complements the 97-litre fridge, and the grill is separate from the oven. Adria also supplies a glass lid for the sink as well as for the hob, maximising surface workspace. There is also an extendable chopping board above the fridge, and e power point at the far end, near the second main work surface area.
There are three overhead cupboards, hinged on the side and with domestic-style, frosted-glass doors. The Adria Adora also makes use of the overhead space near the bed for large shelves, and provides an enormous corner cupboard, four drawers and two long shelves. Along with its amazing storage capacity, the Adria kitchen is bright and airy, thanks to a large sunroof. All this, plus the high level of spec, makes the Adora's kitchen really stand out.
In the rear bedroom, there is a washroom featuring a washbasin with mirrors above it is located just outside a toilet/shower washroom. Underneath the basin there's a spacious cupboard, and there is plenty of shelving, fronted by rails to prevent things falling off – a theme echoed throughout the van.
In the rear of the caravan, a good, solid door separates the fixed bed/washroom area from the rest of the van, blocking out sound as well as light. Adria has a washroom featuring a bench toilet, which fits perfectly in the space provided for it. The toilet is also waterproof, so no curtain is required to separate it from the shower. A curtain is provided at the door, however, to prevent water leaking into the caravan. There are also two moulded-plastic shelves.
At the rear of the Adria, there is a large fixed double bed, which uses the overhead space especially well, having seven overhead lockers for clothes and four small shelves that are perfect for books, a glass of water or a mobile phone. A mini sunroof makes this area light and airy as well as functional.
