Touring Caravan Awnings

Caravan Awnings

Caravan awnings come in a huge range of shapes and sizes but usually fall into either of 2 types: porch awnings and full awnings. Porch usually cover the area around the caravan door and provide space for a table and chairs and a dry area to take shoes and wet clothes off. Full awnings cover the whole side of the caravan and provide a large space for extra bedrooms / cooking etc. Cheap awnings are usually best avoided due to the likelihood of tearing and damage.

Isabella Awnings

Isabella have been making quality awnings since 1957 and the brand prides itself on quality and customer service. Isabella offer a huge range of awnings to suit every need, using the latest manufacturing processes and materials such as carbon X frame rods. What size awning do i need? The Isabella website contains a useful tool which allows you to search for the correct awning size by inputting the model and year of your caravan. the link is here: http://www.isabella.net/uk/support/search-on-a-measurement

Kampa Air awnings - inflatable awnings

Kampa Rally Air Pro Review

After years of development, Kampa AIR awnings have revolutionised caravanning. Gone are the traditional metal or fibreglass poles, replaced by strong, high pressure inflatable AirFrame poles. No more struggling with the
awning frame and trying to find the correct pole, the AirFrame is already attached to the awning for simple one step set up.

Kampa Rally Air 390

How do they work?

It’s simple: traditional poles have been replaced with an inflatable AirFrame that is always attached to the awning. The individual poles are linked together so that you can pump at just one single point and inflate the entire awning. The rigid AirFrame creates an exceptionally strong awning, probably stronger than a steel frame. It can be inflated using the supplied high volume manual pump or, for the ultimate in ease, with an optional electric pump. An AirFrame can be pumped up in less than 60 seconds using the manual pump.

What’s the set-up procedure? Just follow these simple steps:

Thread the awning onto the awning rail of your caravan. The Kampa Air awnings are lightweight making this easier than a conventional awning.

Peg down the four corners of the awning.

Attach the pump to the inflation point and pump until inflated. The tubes are high pressure so you can’t over inflate with the pump supplied.

Peg down the intermediate pegging points and the built in Quickpitch guying straps.
